Who We Are

Based in Denver, Colorado, The Timoney Group consists of professionals with a unique combination of technical expertise and domain knowledge in a broad range of sectors.

Brian Timoney—Principal
After a decade of applying his GIS skills in areas such as land development, environmental remediation, defense, and energy, Brian founded The Timoney Group in 2005 to focus on web-based delivery of visual information. Active in promoting the possibilities of web mapping platforms in particular, Brian has presented at conferences such as Location Intelligence, Where 2.0, GIS In The Rockies, and ESRI PUG.

Brian's education path has included stops at Columbia (B.A., Philosophy-Economics), Penn State (M.S. Geography), and the US Marine Corps (Sergeant, Infantry).

He speaks fluent Spanish as well as the Philadelphian dialect of American English.

Trent Pingenot—Sr. Data Architect
Trent brings a breadth of GIS experience from working with ESRI both in Chile and Denver, supporting biodiversity projects in Costa Rica, and providing environmental planning and litigation support here in Colorado. Intrigued by the migration of GIS to the web, Trent's recent focus has been in linking datastores with user interfaces drawing on his knowledge of both ESRI technologies as well as a wide variety of open source tools.

Trent holds a B.A. from Rhodes College in Urban Studies and Sociology and a Master's in GIS from the University of Denver.

Our Developer Network
The Timoney Group occasionally taps into its network of developers to provide additional support for our clients' projects. In addition to taking advantage of the deep pool of programming talent found in Colorado's Front Range, we also reach out internationally to bring a broad range of intellectual firepower in to contribute to the common goal of getting good work done efficiently.
